Tocane lies between Riberac to the west and Perigueux, the capital town of the Dordogne department, to the east. The whole area is called the Aquitane and the Dordogne, in which Tocane lies, is the largest, oldest and arguably the prettiest, department in France.

Many tourist magazines are now calling the Dordogne, the new Provence!

Tocane St Apre is a busy "working village" in that it is fully serviced by restaurants and bars, Boulangeries, Charcuteries, a wine cave, supermarche, medical and sporting facilities and a camping ground with a public beach.

Monday is Market day in Tocane and there are village markets every day somewhere nearby.
The area abounds with wonderful walks, mountain biking galore, delightful views, horse riding, fishing, swimming and canoeing – all these are within a very easy walking distance of Rouge.
You may not want to do it all - but its nice to know its there.
Tocane is easy to find and ideally situated only 1 and half hours inland from Bordeaux Airport, 50 minutes from Bergerac International Airport and only 3 hours south of Paris by TGV.
It is an easy drive from Rouge to visit most of the wonders of our regions making Tocane St Apre an ideal holiday destination.
